Have you ever thought about writing stories for children?
Write4Kidz is a group of enthusiasts who meetregularly at the Takapuna Library, North Shore City.
This month they celebrated along with local writer Kathy White, the launching of her book, A Hairy Tale, published by Penguin in their Kiwi Bites series.
These lively books with short chapters and copious illustrations are just right for young readers, many of whom joined in this occasion sporting their own hairy outfits.
Three year seven students, Nicki Gill, Cleo Philp and Tara Hunt, introduced the book with a Reader's Theatre performance; Kathy White and illustrator Fraser Williamson spoke, spot prizes were drawn for costumed children and everyone enjoyed a supper of tasty Kiwi bites.
Kathy will be speaking about writing for the Australian market at the next Write4Kidz meeting on Monday, March 15 at 7pm at the Takapuna Library.
