Are you looking for expert advice on writing or illustrating for children? Do you know youngsters that would be keen for help with their writing or drawing?
The 11th annual Children's Literature Foundation of New Zealand's Storylines Festival is offering expert advice through a range of workshops to be held at The Edge, Auckland, on Saturday, June 19.
They include Australian guests: Garth Nix, writer of the acclaimed Old Kingdom trilogy, on Reality and Imagination (for teenagers and adults); writer and television presenter Andrew Daddo on writing: Springing Into Words (8-13-year-olds), and storytelling: The Stories of Andrew (adults and children); as well as youth literature specialist Agnes Nieuwenhuizen with Teenagers Need Stories (adults).
New Zealand illustrators Elizabeth Fuller (Mrs Wishy Washy and The Best Loved Bear) and Ross Kinnaird (Why Do Dogs Sniff Bottoms?) offer workshops for children; and writers Tessa Duder, How to Get Published (adults), and Tania Roxborogh and V.M. Jones, writing workshops for children.
