Billy Ray Cyrus 'proud' to walk Miley down the aisle

Billy Ray Cyrus says he is going to be very proud to walk his daughter Miley to the altar.

Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth, 22, proposed to the 19-year-old Miley at the end of May and she said yes.

Achy Breaky Heart country crooner Cyrus, who is a father to six children, says he can't wait to see his little girl wed.

"I actually sent her a note just last night that I do look forward to that moment whenever that time is," he told Us Weekly magazine.

Cyrus said he texted Miley and said: "'I just want you to know, whenever you're ready, I'm going to be very proud to walk you down that aisle.' She was like, 'Daddy'!."

No details of the wedding have been announced but Cryus revealed there could be more than one ceremony, stating: "They are going to have three weddings."

Cyrus did joke though about agreeing to let future Aussie son-in-law wed his daughter Miley.

"Liam asked if he could have my daughter's hand in marriage, and I said yes, if I could be in his brother's next movie."
