The final announcement of Big Day Out artists is - as tradition demands - dominated by New Zealand acts.
But four more international acts, Chicago's positive punks Rise Against, Detroit's Money Mark, Canadian turntablist Kid Koala and underground hip-hop freak RJD2 have also been added to the January 21 bill that is headlined by the Beastie Boys.
The local acts confirmed are the Mint Chicks, SJD, the Have, Deja Voodoo, Tha Feelstyle, Pitch Black, Footsouljahs, 8 Foot Sativa, Frontline, Fast Crew, Breakin Wreckwordz, Evermore, 48 May, Revolver, the Fanatics, the Phoenix Foundation, 4 Corners, Chuganaut, and DJs Greg Churchill, Roger Perry and Matt Clarke.
Meanwhile, the first side-gig by an artist playing the BDO has been confirmed. Brooklyn's electro-punks Le Tigre play the Kings Arms on January 20, the night before the one-day festival at Ericsson Stadium.
Le Tigre was formed in 1998 by former Bikini Kill frontwoman Kathleen Hanna who along with Johanna Fatemann and JD Samson has released three albums, and the remix album, Deceptacon.
