Bic Runga and her supergroup are heading out on the road next month for a national tour which includes outdoor venues.
As well as playing theatres and town halls in some of the main centres, Runga is playing al fresco at non-traditional venues including the Tahaki Reserve in Mt Eden, Auckland, on Saturday April 1 and the lawns of the Whangarei Museum the following night.
The tour reunites the all-star band who backed Runga on her critically acclaimed album Birds. The live line-up will include Neil Finn on piano as well as Anika Moa, Shayne Carter and Anna Coddington on backing vocals.
The group also includes former TrinityRoots drummer Ricky Gooch, Boxcar Guitars guitarist Ben Maitland, Pluto guitarist Tim Arnold, and Aussie bassist Conrad Standish.
The Birds tour starts at Invercargill's Anderson Park on March 19. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday. For more info: www.bicrunga.com
