KEY POINTS:
Bootylicious singer Beyonce is in talks to lock lips with Desperate Housewives' hottie Eva Longoria in an upcoming Sofia Coppola film, reports the New York Daily News.
The pair have been approached to play the two leads in an on-screen version of Sarah Walters' graphic novel, Tipping the Velvet - the Victorian love story of a dance hall star and a fishmonger's daughter.
"We've had Brokeback Mountain, so the time is right for this divine novel to get the same treatment," Beyonce told reporters in New York last week.
Longoria has also confirmed she is interested in the role, saying: "Yes, it's true. We are talking about doing the movie together. It's such a wonderful novel, a beautiful love story."
Coppola, who won an Oscar for the 2003 drama Lost in Translation, is campaigning hard to make the film but has yet to get the greenlight from producers.
