1. Kate Sylvester's Wolf show, for me, won overall best. The red wool hooded cape, gold pleated dress and crop tan leather bolero jacket were standouts. Karen Inderbitzen-Waller's brilliant styling was key to this show.
2. Cool gaucho styling by Doris De Pont. Hats and scarves made the outfits look slick and the patterned pieces were not as overpowering as we are used to seeing from De Pont.
3. Juliette Hogan's sophisticated and wearable dresses. My favourites were the palest dusky pink velvet and the grey plaid babydoll dress.
4. Cherry Cotton Candy had the cutest models with kooky quiffed hair. The girls' cheeky attitudes were well suited to the playful gold hotpants, silver playsuit and birdseye wool minidress.
5. Cybele's very skilled panelling on the gold brocade dress was a standout, and primary block colours on jackets and dresses were bold and eyecatching.
6. Deborah Sweeney's asymmetric dresses with flying crane print were interesting, as were the black and red tartan pieces like the cute strapless dress.
7. Nom*D's long, burnt orange knitwear pieces are a welcome colour for a comparatively subdued season.
8. Kingan Jones surprised us all with the ladylike sophistication of the entire range. Sexy little dresses and sleeves with puffs and billows, pussycat bows at the neck and the signature zigzag print. Offbeat purple and yellow complemented nicely.
9. Again at Zambesi, burnt orange was a favourite colour, especially the ankle boot, and the roomy coat in silver spotted navy fabric was a great look. Not so good were the wigs on otherwise gorgeous girls.
10. Luxe, metallic fabrics and richly coloured velvets made Yvonne Bennetti's one of the shiniest shows.
