TVNZ newsreader Bernadine Oliver-Kerby will read the news during Paul Holmes' top-rated breakfast radio show.
Her new morning radio slot is in addition to her role as a weekend newsreader for One News at 6pm.
From tomorrow, the 33-year-old is also replacing Wendy Petrie who has been filling in for TV1 anchor Judy Bailey, who is on holiday.
Newstalk ZB general manager Bill Francis said he was impressed with Oliver-Kerby's development during her 13 years with TVNZ and the way she performed while working a few fill-in shifts with the radio station late last year.
"As a result of her experiences she's also very good at ad-libbing, and will have the ability to chat with Paul."
Oliver-Kerby will be on air from January 24.
