Blond hair is big for SS17, but if you're going to take the plunge, which shade is best? Jayde Jeff from Rodney Wayne in Fort St has this advice:

"Soft pastel and natural, buttery tones are on point this summer, as opposed to white platinum shades. As you get older, the wrong shade against your skin can be ageing, but an easy guide is, if you were blond as a child, that colour is usually the most flattering shade to go for. Otherwise, for cooler skin tones and cool eye colouring, icy, champagne tones would suit. For warmer skin tones and eye colouring, think warm buttery, golden tones."

Top tip: dehydration and colour pigment loss are the enemy of blond hair, so invest in specialist hydrating products and those that replenish violet and ash pigments, to keep the brassy tones at bay.
