Beauty: New season hair and makeup trends

Beauty is more than skin deep this spring.

Spring is here so it's time to start upping the beauty regime. Makeup is all about fresh, glowing skin where less is more. Skin is dewy and ethereal and brows remain strong. Lips have a touch of gloss, eyes are wide and innocent. Hair has that slightly "undone" feeling. Matt Benns from Stephen Marr notes the big trend is "windswept textured waves", hair has that "lived-in and salty feel, loosely tousled from the city breeze".

Achieve the ultimate doe-eyed look with Lancome's Grandiose mascara. If you're after length, curl and volume, this one's for you.

A simple, pretty wash of colour over the lids is all you need. I love Yves Saint Laurent Couture Variation Palette. The colour payoff is amazing.

When it comes to hair I adore Kevin Murphy's Hair Resort Spray for the ultimate "day at the beach hair". Spray it in for a sexy, messy do.

Hamilton Brooks from Hamilton Brooks Hairdressing says "it's all about adding texture - think 90s grunge with shaggy long layers" and ponytails that are "not too perfect".

Danny Pato from D & M notes the "rock chic lob" (or long bob) is still going strong.

Zoe Clark from Dry & Tea believes braids are taking the world. Another big trend is "lived-in waves" and she suggests enhancing dry texture and volume with Redken's Pillow Proof Express Primer.
