At the age of 14, "Renee", who would go on to change her name to Little Bear, began shaving her face to keep the dark hairs sprouting on her chin a secret.
Diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome - a condition that affects fertility and can cause excessive hair growth - Little Bear eventually decided to stop trying to control her facial hair. In 2014, having settled in Seattle, Washington, she won a competition for "Bearded Ladies", called Whiskerinas, and went on tour with a sideshow for four years, according to metro.co.uk.
While she's gone on to make a name for herself online, thanks in part to her unique look, when she found herself without a partner in 2017, she feared she would be single forever.
Sharing her concerns on Facebook, she was contacted by a man named Tobias Bradick, who asked her on a date. According to metro.co.uk, the pair had met in 2014 through an online polyamory group but it wasn't until Bear's Facebook comment that things moved forward between them.
After a year together, the couple were engaged and in late February tied the knot in a somewhat unusual ceremony: Little Bear is a Christian and now-husband Bradick identifies as a Satanist. But the new bride says it works, claiming their code of ethics is actually the same.
