First drinks: With a variety of craft beers to choose from we opted for the 8-beer taster box ($4 a glass, a mix of New Zealand craft ales, pilsners, draught, lager, a porter and a cider. Favourites were the Good George Sparking Ale - a citrus with a biscuit balance - and the Good George Doris Plum Cider.
The vibe: Lively. Small crowds of people enjoying an after-work beer or two before heading home for the weekend. The decor of the bar is rustic, featuring cool upcycled wood door-tables and menus sitting inside old school journals.
On the stereo: It was hard to hear the music over all the chatter in the bar but it seemed like a playlist of alternative rock and indie.
The toilets: Were clean and they worked.
