First drinks: were in keeping with Conch's South American leanings - we went for a round of delicious smoky pineapple margaritas, and a Conch gin and tonic, which is served with capsicum instead of cucumber (something of a revelation). We also tried the rum and lime based cane caipirinha, and a seasonal fruit caipiroska which was done with muddled feijoas. All very tasty, and reasonably priced.
The vibe is: pretty much everything I want in a bar. Somewhere convivial to drink with friends and listen to some excellent but non-intrusive music, without having to queue up or deal with any boneheads.
On the stereo: Jazz, soul, reggae, dancehall, world, funk, blues - Conch is also a premiere record store, so you can expect plenty of hot tracks.
