Rock group Pearl Jam has promised $100,000 to several groups that focus on environmental causes as part of an effort to offset the carbon emissions the band churns out on tour.
Guitarist Stone Gossard says the group tracks emissions from vehicles used on tour and the energy used in concert venues and that "we emitted about 5000 tonnes of carbon on our last tour".
