In more than 20 years at the top, model Kate Moss has come to epitomise a high-impact, yet seemingly effortless, style known as rock chic. The face of Dior Addict lipstick says she enjoys design collaborations as a natural career extension from modelling. She acknowledges that the "glamorous" new black-packaged Dior Addict Extreme lipstick collection is based on her public style, but the renowned party girl says these days she is as likely to be found cooking or taking trips to the country with her daughter and husband.

Her favourite Dior shade, for now, is Lucky, a bold pink named after one of the designer's favourite models and which Moss is seen wearing in the campaign imagery. "It's sexy and a bright but an easy-to-wear colour."

What is a day in the life of Kate Moss like?

It's never the same, every day is different. I'm lucky enough to be able to escape the routine thanks to my job and travel.

How do you choose the right colour lipstick?

I think both my mood and outfit, and also where I am going, influence my choice of shade.

What was your first lipstick?

Heather Shimmer, an iridescent lilac [Rimmel] colour, we all wore it!

How do you take care of your lips after removing lipstick?

I always moisturise and then put on a smear of lip balm.

Have you learned any tricks of the trade from makeup artists that you use on yourself?

Yes, I have picked up a few ... Pat McGrath taught me how to shade and Dick Page taught me to blot excess lip colour with my fingers and dab it on my cheeks for an instant glow.

What kind of make-up look did you choose for your wedding?

Charlotte Tilbury did my makeup and we went for a natural, dewy look. I didn't want to overdo it and hide behind a mask of heavy make-up.

Do you feel less is more when it comes to beauty?

Definitely. In the day, I keep it simple and then at night, I like to go for either a strong eye or lip, but not both together. Make up should enhance your natural features, not overpower them.

What is the one makeup item that you cannot live without?

Black kohl, it's essential for creating a classic smoky eye.

What is your favourite lipstick colour for a ritzy event?

Red Carpet (Dior Addict). A Friday date? Blush (Dior Addict). A trip to Paris? A bright pink like Plaza (Dior Addict Extreme). A rock concert? Rock n Roll (Dior Addict).
