And sure enough Amber D and the team from M.A.C have come up with a delicious, barely there face - blank, soft and dewy.
In a modern take on last year'ssweep of pink from cheek around the brow, Amber has highlighted the upper cheek bone and around the eye, even over the brow, with a shimmering sweep of opal pigment.
This is the year of the interesting brow - the outer third is blocked out with foundation, giving the girls an open, slightly staring eye. The shimmering pigment is swept on with a big, fat brush, pulling up and out to open up the eye. A tiny lick of smoulder pencil in the lower waterline finishes the natural look.
The shimmer continues on the lips: a made-in-the-studio mix of copper pigment blended with Fixed Plus Spray to activate the metallic liquid (you can re-create the same look at home with M.A.C's O lipstick). The base is a fat, chestnut pencil.
Lauren Gunn's team at Stephen Marr have been practising their best twists, creating architectural crimped sections of hair sweeping down from a tightly sectioned crown pulled off the face.
The effect works perfectly with the opened eye and face - the cloud of crimped hair is feminine to work with the pieces.
TRY THIS AT HOME: Abandon the smouldering eye and play with your eyebrows instead. Shaving is a bit bovver-boy extreme, but use foundation to block out the outer third of your brow, then sweep shimmer (not a dark blush)from cheekbone to brow. Pretty and light for summer, dramatic with a pale winter face.
