One of the most important jobs mascara does is to create the illusion of an "open" eye.
Start with an eyelash primer and work it in as close to the lash roots as possible. Primer will help each lash carry maximum mascara, giving better volume. Then, apply the first coat of mascara, working it in with a "wiggle" as close to the lashline as possible to get a good curl (applying to the lash tips only will effectively "close" the eye).
For extra volume, apply a second coat to the top of your lashes, then reapply to the bottom of the lashes and lift them up and out. For a more natural look, use a classic tube-shaped wand from the lashline and for fierce, feline eyes use a tight-bristle rubber wand at 45 degrees and apply upwardly from the outer corner of the eye.
