Aussie designer launches vibrator promising 'million-dollar orgasm'

Australian jeweller Colin Burn has just released the Pearl Royale, a diamond-encrusted vibrator that promises "a very royal experience".

The new vibrator will set you back a couple of million dollars (around NZ$1.8 million) but the designer believes that won't stop some people.

"My inspiration was to create something that shows the value people place on sex," he told the New York Post.

"[People] spend lots of money for the experiences of owning Maseratis and the like. But would they pay for this?"

Burn spent the last 15 years working on his masterpiece, the Pearl Royale, which he says he named to "evoke a very royal experience", with its diamonds and sceptre-like shape.

The vibrator has a platinum body covered with 2000 diamonds, some royal-blue sapphires and "very rare" pink diamonds.

To use the vibrator, you need to twist a platinum key that gets it started.

Despite the price tag, the jeweller says there's a lot of interest in the piece, mainly from Russian jewellers and members of the hip-hop community.

In his interview to the Post, he added that the Pearl Royale can help achieve a "million-dollar orgasm", although the device is yet to be tested.
