An Australian film distributor has bought the rights to a New Zealand horror-comedy about homicidal sheep. Black Sheep, written and to be directed by Jonathan King, sees tranquil New Zealand farmland disturbed by a genetic experiment gone wrong that turns sheep into crazed killers.
"The animals, locations and traditions of the Kiwi countryside burst to life, turn inside out and go for the jugular," King told the Dominion Post.
The Weta Workshop of Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson will do the special effects.
