The annual NZ Body Art Awards are being held next month at Auckland's North Shore Events Centre.
We caught up with last year's supreme award winner Carmel McCormick and her canvas, Ali Gascoine, to find out what inspires them to take part in the event.
Now in its eighth year, the body art awards have grown from a humble contest held at the Glenfield Tavern, into a national event, judged by industry high-flyers such as Weta Workshop's Richard Taylor.
The 2008 NZ Body Art Awards will be held on June 14 at the North Shore Events Centre. Tickets are available from Ticketek.
