Viggo Mortensen, who played Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, is embarking on a new adventure - in Spanish.
The New Yorker will star as Captain Alatriste in a movie chronicling the life of the swashbuckling hero of Spain's 17th century wars, Diego Alatriste, the protagonist of Arturo Perez-Reverte's novels.
Mortensen, who is fluent in Spanish, lived in Argentina and Venezuela as a child, and has starred in La pistola de mi hermano (My Brother's Gun), also a Spanish-language film.
