Apollo 440 - Gettin' High on Your Own Supply
(Epic)

The guitar-dance hybrid of Apollo 440 - the Liverpool outfit whose previous album matched Van Halen fretboard fever to drum'n'bass clatter and gave the theme to the Lost In Space movie a 90s makeover (included here) - is all big beats and big guitars on Gettin' High on Your Own Supply (Epic).
Its sample-heavy riff'n'rhythms can suggest Status Quo getting the Fatboy Slim treatment (Stop The Rock), Dr Who being worried by heavy metal Daleks (Cold Rock), or by early Beastie Boys (Stadium Parking Lot). The cheap-thrill factor is tempered by the occasional dub/reggae-shaped track, but it stills sound like a marketing department's idea of how to match rock moshpit to techno dancefloor.
