Angela D'Audney may have lived her life in public but her funeral was conducted in private yesterday.
The 57-year-old veteran broadcaster was farewelled in a full Jewish service at the Beth Shalom Synagogue in Epsom.
D'Audney had a Jewish American mother and her father was Spanish.
She died of cancer early on Wednesday at her Auckland home.
She had planned her funeral service, even taking her friends to the synagogue to demystify Judaism so that they would not feel alienated at her funeral. Only close friends of the broadcaster attended the service.
A memorial service for D'Audney, whose career in radio and television spanned nearly 40 years, will be held next Friday.
No further details were available yesterday.
