Moana & the Tribe are jumping in their waka once again and taking their unique brand of music to Europe. This will be their fourth trip to the continent, where they will take part in festivals and a concert tour.
Before they leave they perform a one-off show at Auckland's Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell on August 6. Live, the group are a fusion of music, dance, haka, traditional instruments, story telling and moving images. As Moana says: "Wipe away the stereotypes.
"We represent the Maori reality today - informed, educated, articulate, confident and highly talented. That's what people need to see."
The concert coincides with a soon-to-be-announced lecture and discussion series at the cathedral, which debates the topic of what New Zealanders want their country to be like in 20 years time.
* Moana & The Tribe play Saturday, August 6, at 7.30pm, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell, Auckland.
