Young New Zealanders are among the most holiday-deprived workers in the world, according to a new survey.
Kiwis aged 18-34 take just 17 of their 19.5 average annual leave days a year, the study by online travel company Expedia found.
Only workers from Japan, America and Australia take fewer holidays.
France ranks as the world's most holiday-rich nation, with the average worker taking 34.5 of their 37.5 annual leave days each year.
The research found young workers were reluctant to take time off due to fears they would be overlooked for important tasks at work.
One in 10 younger workers also said their bosses were not supportive of them taking their annual leave.
Expedia's New Zealand marketing manager Louise Crompton said: "Taking holidays is an important component of working life and we should all take time out from our work so we do not burn out."
