Age of Mythology has been around for a couple of years now, and was the unofficial Age of Empires 3.

While much of the gameplay and graphics looked like that classic title from Ensemble
Studios, it forsook the accurate historical nature of its predecessor in favour of Greek, Egyptian and Norse mythology.

This broadened the game enough to give the series new life.

And its excellent expansion pack, Titans, added the Atlantis civilisation but notably brought in a new class of superweapon, the Titans of the title, who grew from Greek mythology.

Like any superweapon, they only become available at late stages of the game and usually swing things in your favour
if your opponents haven't reached the same level of technology.

Age of Mythology Gold Edition wraps the original and expansion pack into one package, which is excellent value assuming you haven't played them previously.
