Agatha Christie's thriller The Mousetrap, the world's longest-running play, will never close, said producer Stephen Waley-Cohen as the classic whodunnit embarked on its 55th year.
"On the first night, Agatha Christie said she thought it 'might get a nice little run'. Now it's an institution. We have not had a losing week in 55 years." The play traditionally ends every night with theatregoers being urged not to tell anyone the killer's identity.
