Marshmallow and Maisi are the only mice in residence at the SPCA's Mangere Animal Village.
Marshmallow is black, Maisi is white, and they were surrendered to the SPCA on December 23 by their owner, who no longer had time to look after them.
Both are female adults, but the SPCA does not know how old they are.
Auckland SPCA chief executive Bob Kerridge says it's not very often the SPCA has mice.
The mice are not intimidated by cats or dogs with whom they share the area behind the SPCA reception desk.
The mice remain in their cage, but don't appear to be stressed at having the other animals around.
These mice are very friendly and playful and need a home.
