A charity helping abused animals has been given a $50,000 top up to its pet food stocks after they were depleted by the Christchurch earthquake.
Paw Justice delivered 70 tons of pet food to Christchurch in the wake of the devastating February 22 earthquake.
The donations to animals left homeless, abandoned or injured by the earthquake meant the charity had less to give to other animals around New Zealand.
Pet food brand K-9 today confirmed it would give $50,000 of its product to top or the Paw Justice food bank and help its community projects around New Zealand.
Chief executive Calvin Smith said the donation was made after seeing the efforts Paw Justice volunteers put in after the Christchurch earthquake.
