Aaron Spelling, producer of TV series including Charlie's Angels, Dynasty, The Love Boat, Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place, has died aged 83.
Spelling died at his home in Los Angeles after a stroke.
His other hit series included Burke's Law, The Mod Squad, Starsky and Hutch and Fantasy Island. He also produced more than 140 TV movies.
His shows were widely popular but often panned by critics. Spelling said in 1986: "You have a choice of proving yourself to 300 critics or 30 million fans."
