My typical Friday night is:
In LA, going to Largo to hear Jon Brion play or to The Baked Potato Club to hear Mike Landau
Which means on Saturday morning I'm probably:
After being roused awake by my two boys, cleaning up the yard a bit.
And breakfast is at:
When we are in Auckland, the Atomic Cafe.
Saturday night, if my dreams came true there would be a gig by:
In LA, Prince. In Auckland, Bic Runga
But if there's nothing else doing I'll probably just:
Have some friends over to our house, with their kids, for drinks/dinner
Sunday morning already, so on the stereo goes:
Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis
Time to get out of the house with a Sunday drive to:
In LA - up to Santa Barbara on the Pacific Coast Highway
Or failing that, it's to the couch to continue reading: Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Sunday night. Time for that movie I've been dying to see: On HBO, Six Feet Under. Or maybe I'll just get the DVD of my perennial fave, Down by Law by Jim Jarmusch
