The votes in the 74th Academy Awards have been cast and now comes the time to hand out the little gold men in what will be - in these parts anyway -- the most exciting Oscar race in years.
With the 13 nominations for Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Russell Crowe up for best actor and Shrek (co-directed by expatriate New Zealander Andrew Adamson) in the running for the best animated feature category, 15 of the categories have a Kiwi connection. That translates to 10 New Zealanders who will hear their name read out on Monday afternoon (NZ time).
