Kiwi couples are resorting to the needle to spice up their sex lives.
The "Vampire Series" of treatments is being offered at an Auckland medical spa, including the so-called "O-Shot" for women and "P-Shot" for men.
These involve harvesting about two to three teaspoons of your own blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets and plasma from the red blood cells.
The clear yellow "platelet-rich plasma" (PRP) is then injected into the patients' private parts and is said to use the body's natural healing processes to repair and rejuvenate tissue.
It is claimed that it stimulates the growth of new cells in the genital area, making it more sensitive.
