There are girls - and women - out there shivering.
They've got numb toes and goosebumped arms.
Sometimes you have to state the obvious: in winter, you really should wear sleeves, ditch the jandles and pop on a coat.
So what should we be wrapping ourselves up in this season if we want to be warm and look hip and happening?
Fashion experts say it's all about leather, chunky-heeled boots and black with pops of berry, emerald and a metallic shine.
Dishing out the dos and don'ts on dressing for winter are: David Jones general manager womenswear Sophie Clark, Myer general manager of women's fashion Nicole Naccarella and Westfields national stylist Madelin Tomelty.
The 10 rules of dressing for winter:
1. Thou shalt wear more than a skirt and T-shirt
"You can still show off the curves of your body and flaunt your best assets without showing a whole lot of skin," Tomelty says.
"This winter tailored jackets can be thrown over fitted dresses to create a feminine silhouette while staying warm," Clark says.
2. Thou shalt wear leather
"Leather has always been, and probably always will be, a key element of any winter wardrobe," Naccarella says.
"But this season, it seems that leather is even more popular than in the past. Leather is everywhere we look, from Aurelio Costarella's metallic leather pieces, to the leather panelling and detail in Maticevski's collection and don't forget about the statement leather burgundy pants from Arthur Galan. The leather look is all about attitude this season," she adds.
3. Thou shalt wear something snuggly to bed
"Believe it or not the onesie is massive this winter for sleepwear," Tomelty says.
"Sussan, Peter Alexander and Bras 'n' Things are all aboard this trend. You might not look terribly seducible but you'll sure stay warm."
4. Thou shalt keep the noggen warm
"Wear a hat on your head and a scarf around your neck," Tomelty says.
"I love a gorgeous felt hat in winter or if you're not into making big statements but want to look cute, opt for a knitted slouchy hat and throw on a chunky scarf. Dotti do some really cute ones and gorgeous fingerless gloves too," she says.
5. Thou shalt wear boots
"To put it simply don't wear thongs when it's cold and raining because you will feel (and look) freezing," Tomelty says.
"When the grey drizzle and winter temperatures arrive who can resist a cosy boot?
"The good thing is, the boot this winter is edgy and sexy. It's all about the ankle style, whether it's a casual flat or a chunky-heeled dressy style with lots of gold hardware. I love Wittner's selection this season," Tomelty says.
6. Thou shalt own a decent coat
"If you're investing in just one quality coat to see you through, look for classic, timeless cuts that transcend seasons, and always in a quality durable fabric," Clark says.
"A classic cut and colour can also see you through from work wear to weekends and evenings," she adds.
7. Thou shalt wear black
"There is the usual love of black out in full force as well as lots of tweed-greys," Tomelty says.
"But to spice things up there are some gorgeous berry tones at retailers such as Saba, bright, poppy jewel-tones as well as shimmering golds, bronzes and silvers at a whole bunch of retailers including Seed."
8. Thou shalt dress for a decadent 1920s party
"Jewelling and lavish trimming is dominant off the back of The Great Gatsby 1920s revival," Clark says.
9. Thou shalt wear cosy jumpers
"Chunky knits are also a great on-trend item for winter - check out Country Road for inspiration," Tomelty says.
10. Thou shalt wear wide-legged trousers
"We love the wide legged trousers which have continued from last season but are available this winter in more styles and in different fabric mixed and patterns," Clark says.
"This is one trend you can really make your own, with a crisp white shirt or a tailored jacket for work."
