It was a batting and bowling masterclass when Paraparaumu College's Cowie brothers Jack, Charlie and Hamish took to the cricketing field on the Saturday before last.
Jack, 16, an opening batsman, blasted 120 runs for the college's first XI during a home 50 over premier two Wellington division clash against St Pat's Silverstream.
It was Jack's highest score - he normally averages about 40.
"It was great.
"I was hitting everything out of the middle and didn't give any chances away."
His innings came to an end when he skyed one off a spinner with a few overs to go.
Teammates gave him a round of applause as he left the field.
"I was pretty happy."
Medium pace bowler Charlie, 15, also playing for the college's first XI snared four wickets giving him the impressive figures of 4-30 off nine overs.
His first victim was bowled and the other three were caught.
"It was pretty exciting."
It was a convincing win for Paraparaumu which scored 269 for 10, while St Pat's could only muster 132 for 10.
Meanwhile, Hamish, 13, who plays for the first XI, but was playing for the second XI on this occasion, scored 87 runs, on the next door pitch, against Scots College intermediate.
"I was number three batsman, and was in early, but managed to bat for about 30 overs.
"I got out to an lbw."
His team triumphed scoring 265 all out while Scots were 155 all out.
There to watch the boys' success was their father Ian Cowie, who is Paraparaumu College's first XI coach.
