The last donation of the Chester Bellis Memorial Trust has gone to Coastguard Kapiti Coast.
The trust has funded the purchase of Gill waterproof jackets and leggings for crew on the coastguard's two vessels.
For 22 years the trust has made donations to Paraparaumu College, Kapiti College, Otaki College, Outdoor Pursuits Centre, Outward Bound, Spirit of New Zealand and many more, totalling more than $100,000.
Erika Bellis, who has now closed the trust, thanked the trustees Carla Boag, Leonie Beggs, Glen Mitchell and Mark Brosnahan.
"We're very grateful for this very generous donation from Erika and the trust," Pete Woodward, from the coastguard, said.
