"I wrote it earlier this year.
"It is commercial radio length just over three minutes."
She loves singing the song as it tested her vocal range.
"I love the way I change my vocal dynamics through this song having soft and strong parts in the song, it really is an emotional song."
Peyton was nervous singing Storm in the regional heats especially as she wanted to win the solo/duo award back to back; she won the same award last year.
"I was relieved to win again, what an amazing feeling and I was so proud of myself."
This isn't a farewell is a song Peyton wrote about leaving Te Horo School "and to show how much I appreciated everything they had done for me".
"I wrote it last year and once again it's about three minutes long."
Performing the song in the regional final was a bit nerve-racking but she was soon in the zone.
"While I was performing, I was totally in another world, as I zone out when singing, as I feel all the emotions.
"I felt super great after I performed and was all hyper and ready."
Peyton, who is enjoying college life, has recorded a 17 minute video of five of her original songs, which will be judged by Smokefreerockquest.
"They receive the top two place getters from every region in bands and solo/duos.
"Independent judges from the music industry whittle them down until 12 play at the grand final on September 24 in Auckland."
