The Waikanae Community Patrol celebrated the launch of its replacement patrol vehicle with a function at Edgewater Park, Waikanae on Sunday.
It was attended by sponsors, supporters and patrol members. The new highly-visible patrol vehicle was displayed with the new in-vehicle computerised reporting system.
Chairman Paul Jones thanked the principal
patrol vehicle sponsor, the ANZ Staff Foundation, and also Peter Venner Motors and Woodman Automotive for their contributions.
Other sponsors of the patrol overall include the Pharazyn Trust, the Waikanae Community Board, A Safe Kapiti, Harcourts, the Waikanae Baptist Church, the Lions Club, lawyer Suzie Mills, AMI and Kapiti Signs.
Deputy mayor Mike Cardiff thanked the patrol for its work and acknowledged the generosity of the sponsors enabling the patrol to carry out valuable community work.
