The shop, which is open each day except Tuesday from 10am to 4.30pm, has items such as bric-a-brac, homeware, books, clothing, furniture and more.
The shop's arrival came about after the St John Otaki, St John Levin and St John Foxton committees morphed into the St John Horowhenua committee.
"It gives us more resources and more people doing the right things," said Jenny, who is the manager of the St John Levin Opportunity Shop.
She said the Otaki op shop, which has seen two shops converted into one, would generate funds for Otaki's two health shuttles.
"Two health shuttles in Otaki run every day.
"They go anywhere anyone has got an appointment.
"Next year a third health shuttle is needed."
Funds would also go towards Carer Calling, Friends of the Emergency Department, and two St John youth groups.
"With Carer Calling, we have volunteers who ring up elderly people and make sure they're safe, they've locked their doors, turned their ovens off at night, things like that.
"Friends of the Emergency Department, called the Feds, involve St John people in the emergency departments at night giving people cups of tea, talking to them, making sure they're calm, giving them a sandwich, things like that.
"We don't have a youth group in Otaki but we've got one in Levin as well as Foxton."
Donations to the Otaki op shop are welcome.
