Police are hunting a driver who crashed a car into a curb and fled on foot, north of Wellington.
Police and fire services were called to he incident this morning at around 10.30am, when a driver crashed at the corner of Golf Rd and Kapiti Rd in Paraparaumu Beach, before reportedly fleeing by foot through a nearby property.
A witness said he heard a loud crash and then a series of sirens, and came outside to see an abandoned silver vehicle wedged on the curb, with its front driver's door still open.

Another car was sideswiped in the incident but the victim, who described the fleeing driver’s behaviour as erratic, was unharmed.
Police are searching for the driver with the help of a police dog.
