The Treaty of Waitangi was signed again yesterday.
The "signing" was a recreation of the 1840 event at a beach at Kaitarakihi Bay, on Auckland's Manukau Harbour, for a TV documentary.
The public wanting to get to the beach were shuttled down, but news media were prevented from getting access by a security guard posted on the access road's closed gate.
The recreation, What Really Happened? Waitangi, is being filmed by production company Eyeworks New Zealand. The producer is Robin Scholes.
The 90-minute film was funded by New Zealand on Air and will be shown TV One on Waitangi Day in February.
Eyeworks had consent to film at the beach from Auckland Council.
