A date has been set for the trial of Maori activist Tame Iti, who is accused of brandishing and firing a shotgun before members of the Waitangi Tribunal and Crown officials a year ago.
His trial is set for June 12 in Rotorua District Court with pre-trial matters to be dealt with on June 6.
The date was set yesterday but Iti was not required to appear.
He has requested a Maori interpreter, fluent in the Tuhoe dialect, be at his trial.
