A Scottish museum says it will repatriate a collection of Maori remains that have been in its archives for more than 100 years to Te Papa.
The National Museums Scotland will also be returning an Aboriginal skull to Tasmania. A year ago, The Marischal Museum at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland handed over nine tattooed heads to a New Zealand delegation.
Increasing numbers of Maori remains are being returned to New Zealand under a British law instructing nine leading museums and institutions to send back remains to indigenous communities around the world.
