A new organisation to combat Maori Child Abuse has emerged.
Te Kahui Mana Ririki is the result of two smaller lobby groups forming and also follows from last year's Maori Child Abuse Summit.
Senior Anglican minister Dr Hone Kaa said the trust would promote the wellbeing of Maori children and attack the disproportionately high rates of child abuse.
Children's Commissioner Dr Cindy Kiro supports the trust and said she was encouraged to see Maori leaders, whanau and communities taking action.
