KEY POINTS:
Maori voters are almost evenly split between Labour and the Maori Party, a Marae-Digipoll shows.
The poll found 39.7 per cent of Maori voters supported Labour, while 38.2 per cent supported the Maori Party.
Of the other parties, 10.3 per cent of Maori voters supported National, 5.2 per cent New Zealand First and 4.6 per cent the Greens.
No other party registered over 1 per cent support.
Support for the Maori Party was higher on the Maori roll (48.5 per cent) than the general roll (10.6 per cent), while the situation was the reverse for Labour (general 53.3 per cent, Maori 34.3 per cent).
Prime Minister Helen Clark was by far the most preferred prime minister, registering 42.9 per cent support. No other candidate registered over 10 per cent.
The poll of 1000 voters -- 660 of them on the Maori roll and 340 on the general roll -- was conducted between March 30 and April 24. It has a margin of error of 3.1 per cent.
