Local hip-hop artist Dubstar is leaving the Far North this week to spread his radio talents further south and take on a television role.
Dubstar, also known as Wakstar, Kina Boy and, more formally, as Wake Matthews, has worked for Kaitaia-based local youth station Tai FM for three years.
A Maori speaker, he's about to take on a front line role with Maori TV as a presenter for new show Tuu Wera.
He'll remain on the airwaves, this time with Radio Tainui in Hamilton, presenting the station's rangatahi (youth) show.
