Legendary tourist guide Bubbles dies

The legendary Whakarewarewa guide Bubbles Mihinui died suddenly in Rotorua yesterday, aged 86.

In 2002, Guide Bubbles (Dorothy Huhana Mihinui) was made a Distinguished Companion of the NZ Order of Merit - the equivalent of a dame - for her services to Maori, tourism and the community.

Guide Bubbles' body is expected to be taken to Wahiao Marae at Whakarewarewa this afternoon.
