KEY POINTS:
The Court of Appeal has quashed a High Court ruling that stopped the New Plymouth District Council from selling confiscated Maori land back to the Crown.
The case arose after the Waitara Leaseholders Association challenged the validity of the council's decision.
The Court of Appeal disagreed with Justice Rhys Harrison's decision that the council's decision was unlawful, and quashed his ruling.
It also gave leave for the council to appeal against two other High Court decisions.
