Kapa haka a sellout

Regional competition for the country's premier kapa haka event begins at Auckland's The Edge this morning.

Over two days, 21 teams will vie for six places to represent the Tamaki Makaurau region at the national Te Matatini competition next year in Gisborne.

More than 500 performers aged 14 and over will take the stage.
