The brain removed from a New Zealand hit-and-run victim during an autopsy at a Sydney morgue has been returned to his mourning family.
Shane Hau's family were outraged when they learned a coroner had removed his brain, saying it was at odds with Maori culture and had stalled the traditional burial.
But yesterday Mr Hau's sister-in-law, Marcia Hau, said the body, with brain intact, would be returned to Auckland today.
